Under a comprehensive contract with the U.S. Air Force Medical Support Agency (AFMSA), NIKA renovated an outdated veterinary treatment facility at Scott Air Force Base and annexed a new structure. The vet clinic, which is professionally staffed by Army Veterinary Corps personnel, provides complete veterinary care for all government-owned animals, military service animals, and some privately-owned animals. The previously existing vet clinic faced a variety of significant code compliance problems and was classified as a business occupancy facility rather than a medical facility.
