UCONN Wastewater Reuse Project Client: University of Connecticut Location: Storrs, CT In anticipation of increasing potable water needs on its campus due to a growing population, and faced with a lack of additional water supplies in the area, the University of Connecticut selected Hazen and Sawyer to implement a long-term, sustainable program that would reuse appropriately-treated euent from its wastewater treatment plant for non-potable purposes, such as feedwater for both its Centralized Utilities Plant, or CUP (which includes boiler, chilled water, and cooling tower water systems) and turf irrigation.
