Project Highlights: T. Y . Lin International (TYLI) provided structural engineering, site design, and code compliance services for the repurposing of a 27-story office tower originally constructed in 1973 and renovated in 1987. The former office building is branded as “The Metropolitan” and provides mixed-use commercial, office, and residential space. As part of the renovation and rebranding, a new structural steel framed vehicular access loop was constructed at street level over an existing recessed planting area at the concourse level and the service truck tunnel below. The new driveway includes a signature canopy and glass-enclosed vestibule showcasing the new entry and valet area.
