Transit in the Motor City – A New Streetcar for Detroit Helping to make connections in Detroit. The City of Detroit is experiencing a renaissance in its downtown business district along the Woodward Avenue corridor. M-2 Rail, a not-for-profit entity, is working with the City of Detroit and others to develop a streetcar system that will connect the downtown area and the contiguous neighborhoods along a 3.3-mile, 20-station stretch. LTK prepared the streetcar specification to address M-2’s requirements. LTK and M-2 Rail met with a number of carbuilders and LTK assisted M-2 in the evaluation and selection process of streetcar proposals.
