The Challenge The South Glasgow Hospital Campus development involves the expansion of one hospital and the construction of two new hospitals to create one of the largest hospital complexes in Europe. The new South Glasgow University Hospital and Royal Hospital For Sick Children will deliver a truly gold standard of healthcare. There were two areas that required tensile fabric solutions – the ceiling inside the Hospital’s atrium area and the facade of the “Santuary” (a room-within-a- room) also located in this part of the Hospital’s central communal area. The design called for both practical and asthetic solutions to hide services and soften the hard lines of construction.
