The Challenge Working with Main Contractor Laing O’Rourke, Fabric Architecture produced a high-end yet affordable tensile solution, delivered alongside a bespoke project management service, overseen by Director of Design and Engineering, Nigel Browne. Following a complete rebuild, Scottish Power’s new £100m UK base in Glasgow’s city centre, now accommodates 1,900 more staff. The site was previously the home to the former Strathclyde Regional Council and replaces Scottish Power’s old office locations. Fabric Architecture was approached by a team of Glasgow-based architects who were struggling to find an adaptable solution for a series of ceiling voids on the ground level of the new HQ building.
