As planning consultants, working on a scheme of such significance is a huge opportunity and we are proud that we succeeded in overcoming such difficult obstacles to get the scheme through planning. Given the location of the development within the World Heritage Site, we needed to undertake an EIA. Given the nature of the location and its impacts, the primary focus of this was the impact on the international heritage assets. This work came under close scrutiny of a number of stakeholders and consultees including English Heritage, County Council Conservation Advisers and the Planning Authority’
