Overview The previous concrete bund had been severely eroded by the acidic cleaning product stored within it. Therefore the client required a new concrete bund and were looking to protect it with a coating system which had suitable chemical resistance. Challenge There could be no disruption to other ongoing work nearby. Therefore grit blasting and the use of solvent-based paints were not permissible. Solution The surfaces were mechanically prepared by vacuum controlled diamond grinding to remove surface laitance and contamination. The surface was then primed with one coat of solvent-free concrete primer Damp-creteTM RH 800.
