BBC Chartering March 2015 - The Ichthys LNG project is ranked among the most significant oil and gas projects in the world. It commercializes the gas fields discovered in the Browse Basin in 2000, located about 220 kilometers offshore Western Australia. The project which is currently under construction, is a joint venture between INPEX (Operator), major partner TOTAL and the Australian subsidiaries of Tokyo Gas, Osaka Gas, Chubu Electric Power and Toho Gas. In addition, a consortium consisting of General Electric (GE) and a CH2M HILL-UGL Joint Venture has been awarded a contract for the construction of a 500 MW CCPT power plant for the project. As part of this, GE will engineer and supply gas turbines, steam turbines and heat recovery steam generators for the project and the CH2M HILL-UGL
