The Bow Center, Calgary: 158,000 sqm: 57 Floors The Bow Center has a Condenser Water Loop, a Glycol Loop, a Cooling Tower, a Primary Chilled Water Loop and a Primary Heating Loop; between all five systems there are 26 filtration units. These five systems create 2,704 disposable, contaminated filters a year. Each filter costs between $5.80 - $7.50, and it takes a full day of labour to replace all 26 string filters; this process is completed 2Xs a week. The string filters cannot be recycled. These string filters are transported to a normal landfill but cannot be disposed of in the normal landfill space; a $275 surcharge is added to the initial landfill cost of $175/ton to facilitate disposal.
