As part of an overall day- lighting system, Perkins + Will incorporated C/S Lightshelves onto the oversized windows throughout the labs to help draw-in yet diffuse the natural sunlight. This system reduces lighting costs while creating a more comfortable environment for its world-class researchers. The ILSB was designed for research investigation in many different areas of interest in the life sciences. Currently, the facility focuses on three general subject areas—bioinformatics, neuroscience, and structural biology. The ILSB includes approximately 220,000 gross square feet of space
