SW & DW Type Turning Bollards “Innovative, proven and bespoke solutions” CASE STUDY2 PIPESHIELD | DESIGN BRIEF DESIGN BRIEF Pipeshield International were issued a tender package in 2017 for the design, manufacture & supply of turning bollards for the BP Shah Deniz II project 100km South of Baku, Azerbaijan in the Caspian Sea. The scope included 29no. shallow water (<250m) and 42no. deep water (<500m) turning bollards to enable a pipeline to be pulled around them. The footprint, bollard height and submerged weight of the two types of turning bollard was critical to the design as seabed soil conditions dictated the design.
