Solution Kadant provided the mill with a double doctor with an Airset B blade holder in both positions, rather than just the primary position, to increase the effectiveness of the double doctor. The mill had previously had success installing Kadant conventional SPR double doctors on its other three machines Results The installation of a double doctor with Airset B holders in both positions increased solids by at least 2% across all grades.
