© 2019 Kadant Solutions Division Challenge On a bone-hard composite press felt roll of a linerboard machine, a competitor’s glass epoxy blade only lasted four weeks. The U.S. mill was seeking a blade which would provide longer life. The machine ran at 2400 fpm and used a DST-R holder on this position. Solution The nPak G was installed and consistently lasts eight weeks, doubling the blade life of the previous blade.
