The Birkenfeld National Park District in Germany adopted KnowBe4 to strengthen cybersecurity after a nearby district’s costly cyberattack. Over 200 employees now receive regular training, leading to a drop in phishing susceptibility from 15.7% to 3% within a year and over 95% training completion. Monthly phishing simulations, engaging content, USB tests, and automated training delivery helped boost awareness and reduce IT workload. Plans include deploying the Phish Alert Button and promoting results to other municipalities. KnowBe4 supports BSI Baseline Protection Profile compliance and enables remote training as part of Birkenfeld’s sustainable cybersecurity strategy.
