Kirkhamgate, Wakefield with WDH. Starfish worked alongside WDH to deliver 8 new homes at Kirkhamgate, Wakefield. Challenge: The Kirkhamgate site was previously an under-utilised brownfield site, which needed to be repurposed in order to cater for the need for affordable housing in the area. An existing footpath running through the site had to be considered in the design & build of the scheme. Solution: - To build 8 new homes to cater for the local housing need in Wakefield. - To use traditional brick and blockwork construction method, maximising on thermal efficiency to create sustainable housing for the new residents. - To divert foot traffic around the perimeter of the site during the works, and re- opening
