Smithfield Public Schools Envision Technology Advisors began working with the Smithfield School District in early 2014, as part of The Rhode Island Department of Education’s “Wireless Classroom Initiative.” This was a district-wide project to create a centrally- managed, enterprise-grade wireless network that will accommodate every attending student and staff member in Smithfield schools. At the start of this project, the existing wireless in Smithfield schools was inconsistent and powered by a number of off-the-shelf WiFi access points that were not able to be centrally-managed. Envision came up with a plan to install enterprise-grade wireless in all 6 schools in the district, including: Smithfield High School Vincent J. Gallagher Middle School William Winsor Elementary School Raymond C.
