CASE STUDY Scunthorpe General Hospital was running on two R22 Trane Chillers circa 1991 capacity - 165kW each using 50kW of elec- tricity each. Lincolnshire and Goole Hospital commissioned a feasibility study by Pick Everard to evaluate a number of options to replace two ageing chillers serving operating theatres that were reach- ing the end of their life and had become obsolete. The annual running costs for the chillers was £18,457.00 exclud- ing pumps. A detailed study was carried out to replace the existing inef- ficient electric chilllers, with high efficiency new electric chillers with the capacity to allow system resilience for the future.
