Security challenge In 1998, after it was decommissioned, the Royal Yacht Britannia was brought to Leith in Edinburgh to begin a new life as a visitor attraction and venue for corporate events. As Britannia was adapted for her new role, the security specifications evolved. Initially, security provision included two control rooms, one on board the yacht and one in the quayside visitor centre.
