The Challenge Royal Bolton Hospital. Ward C2 were granted the opportunity to run a 4 week trial with the aim of reducing specialling on the Acute Medical Ward. We had one additional staff member on the rota at all times to deal with any specialling needs. We wanted to be able to provide more stimulation for those patients presenting with aggressive and destressed behaviours. ‘Making Specialling Special’ Project The Solution During the 4 week trial period we utilised the unit around many different wards and immediately saw better outcomes as patients became much calmer in mood when working through the reminiscence program of the technology.
