RESTACKING THE NATIONAL SPECTRUM AND CREATING A DIGITAL DIVIDEND

RESTACKING THE NATIONAL SPECTRUM AND CREATING A DIGITAL DIVIDEND

In 2012, BAI Communications was engaged by the Australian Government to lead the restacking of UHF television services, clearing the 694–820 MHz band to enable mobile broadband. Spanning 427 sites and 1,476 services, the project was delivered six weeks early, on budget, and with zero safety incidents despite 346,000 work hours. BAI used custom tools, advanced scheduling, and collaborative procurement to maintain uninterrupted broadcasting during the transition. The initiative freed 60 MHz for 4G services, generating $1.3 billion in auctions, and earned PMI Australia’s 2015 Project of the Year award for its innovation, safety, and governance.
