With their old total stations, officers could only capture and record one data point at a time, which required many hours to map an entire scene. Solution Today, Assistant Chief Bobby Jones, uses a FARO Focus 3D laser scanner at crash and crime scenes to gather much more data in a fraction of the time he used to spend aiming and shooting each individual data point. Results Chief Jones finds the data and speed of capture of his FARO laser scanner to be completely superior to a total station.
