Two University police officers confronted the man, Antonio Guzman Lopez, who was carrying a foot- long, drywall saw and appeared to be mentally unstable or intoxicated. When Sergeant Mike Santos and Officer Frits Van der Hoek arrived at the scene, they ordered the man to drop the saw.
