REMOVAL OF TANK FARM Removal of Tank Farm & Associated Bunds Arkema Polymers, Grimsby November - December 2011 Working in a registered COMAH site with strict restrictions and stipulations RHDL were awarded the contract to remove a Polyester Storage Tank Farm. The vessels and surrounding containment bunds were heavily contaminated with partially set resin. Through Risk Assessment manual decontamination was considered too costly, had considerable safety implications and would have required extensive confine space working. The Tank Farm was situated within a live process area with services on all sides. Despite the presence of live services and physical restrictions the Project was undertaken using a wheeled excavator, equipped with shear attachment. Individual vessels were processed in-situ
