Peckforton Castle
Peckforton Castle’s history dates back to 1840 when John Tollemache bought and inherited 36,000 acres of land in the villages of Peckforton and Beeston. John began his dream of building a medieval castle on the top of the Peckforton hills in 1842 but the magnitude of the project meant it was not completed until 1851. Awarded English Heritage Grade I status in 1952, Peckforton has been used as a location for a number of television and film productions.
