Lancaster Castle | Peter Brett PBA, now part of Stantec, has helped refurbish the building fabric of Lancaster Castle to improve the visitor experience while retaining its heritage for future generations. Lancaster Castle is a Grade I listed building and includes a wide range of historic structures dating back to the 12th Century. Since the closure of HMP Lancaster Castle in 2011, a range of works has been carried out to remove low-quality buildings and restore the fabric of the historic buildings. This work will provide an improved visitor experience and allow more of the castle to be opened to the public, enabling additional groups, such as educational tours for schools, to be accommodated.
