Conduent partnered with the U.S. Secret Service to combat EBT fraud in Alabama, where skimming devices at ATMs, gas pumps, and points of sale were stealing cardholder data and draining accounts. By analyzing transaction data, Conduent identified suspicious activity and potential skimming locations, enabling targeted inspections of more than 150 businesses. Law enforcement examined over 1,400 terminals, recovering three devices, while educational materials were distributed to help businesses detect future threats. The initiative, the first large-scale EBT fraud outreach in the state, improved awareness, protected vulnerable communities, and showcased strong public-private collaboration.
