Menlo Security protected a bank from a dangerous email‑based exploit that bypassed the mail relay server by using a new IP address and email account, avoiding blacklist detection. Within seconds, the exploit also evaded the sandbox by identifying vendor‑specific services through common evasion techniques. Menlo’s Positive Selection technology then intervened, eliminating the file‑borne threat—including unknown and zero‑day exploits—before it could reach the user, preventing a potentially serious security incident.
