Omega High Deviation Toolstring Successfully Closes 4-1/2” HCM ‘Plus’ Hydraulic Sliding Sleeve In 81° Deviation
Omega Case History Background & Objectives • Carry out onshore testing to ensure 4-1/2” HCM can be closed at 90° using Omega tools including the 3.32” Catapult. • Reach target depth of 3,960ft in 81° and engage 4-1/2” HCM shifting profile and close HCM sleeve by downward jar action. • Reduce current high Gas/Oil Ratio (GOR) to enable Maersk to recommence production. • Carry out all operations in a safe manner to all relative personnel and environment. Results • Successful testing carried out onshore prior to mobilization offshore. • 4-1/2” HCM depth reached with Omega Roller Subs & High Deviation Tools. • Omega tools carry out the successful closure of the 4-1/2” HCM Plus. • Excellent impact gained downwards even in 81° with Roller Subs and High Deviation Tubular Jar.
