The first floor contains a classroom and well-equipped Computer Suite, which would be costly to replace if damaged by water from a leaking roof. The school’s asbestos sheet roof had previously been coated with a waterproof material. However this system had failed to cope with movements in the sheets and had failed, resulting in water ingress into the building. Work needed to be completed within a tight programme.
