RESULTS Flash Nippon Kakoh Seishi Achieves Excellent Results with ProCoat Controls Nippon Kakoh Seishi (NKS), Takahagi mill in Japan is achieving improved coated paper quality. This is a result of automating their coater with TotalPlant direct coat weight measurement and ProCoat controls. Off-machine Coater Upgrade OMC1 is a Mitsubishi coater running in bent blade mode. Direct coat weight measurement was added to each of the 2 coating stations, as well as ProCoat profile controls. The new measurement resolution, speed of response and coat weight controls take advantage of the 75mm actuator spacing to provide significantly reduced coating variability ? greatly enhancing the total paper quality.
