A CARING ENVIRONMENT The contract under which we were employed was run under NEC 3 - target cost. The new unit we helped to create is housed on the former Ward 3 of the hospital’s Cancer Centre. It provides care for 17 to 24 year olds with cancer across the East of Scotland. The new centre comprises four in-patient bedrooms, a day care room for outpatient treatment, a TV and chill out zone, a gaming area, computer desks, a beverage bay and dining area. Unlike ‘ordinary’ hospital wards, it also has a social hub that includes a kitchen where young people and their families can prepare meals. Patients have as access to wifi throughout the new facility. CASE STUDY - HEALTHCARE NHS Lothian T eenage Cancer T rust Unit Refit and Refurbishment Find out more at morrisandspottiswood.co.u
