New Scu Trace Metals Removal Media Helps Power Generator Treat Dewatering Process for Discharge to Public Sewer

NEW SCUTM TRACE METALS REMOVAL MEDIA HELPS POWER GENERATOR TREAT DEWATERING PROCESS FOR DISCHARGE TO PUBLIC SEWER OVERVIEW In February 2011, Evoqua was contacted by a large Southern California power utility. The customer was in the first phase of a large investment at the site and required assistance to drain a large cooling water intake system. The National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit levels for this facility required treatment of nickel to 6.7 ppb along with low level organic compounds in a seawater background ionic chemistry. Evoqua evaluated treatment with the new SCUTM adsorptive media and was capable of reaching the desired treatment goal. The initial project successfully treated 150 gpm and allowed repair of the intake manifolds. Once the repair
