The City of Munich in Germany strengthened its cybersecurity by deploying Yubico’s YubiKey products, including the YubiKey 5 NFC and 5C NFC. Protecting critical systems for over 43,000 city employees, Yubico enabled phishing-resistant multi-factor authentication (MFA) across protocols such as FIDO for SSO and VPN access, NFC for follow-me printing, OTP for legacy processes, and PIV for future document signing. This modern, hardware-based authentication approach significantly enhanced security, safeguarding municipal infrastructure, residents, and visitors from evolving cyber threats.
