Mixed Liquid Waste - Processing and Disposal
Mixed Liquid Waste - Processing and Disposal Kinectrics developed a flexible process for disposal of both PCB and non-PCB contaminated mixed Liquid Waste (MLW) within Canada. Conditional Clearance: This involves application of pathways analysis methodology (i.e. dose impact assessment) and minimal processing of the waste prior to conditional release of waste to conventional hazardous waste facilities for incineration. Unconditional Clearance: In this approach the MLW is processed using various unit operations to reduce radionuclide activity levels below their unconditional clearance criteria. The processed waste is then destroyed at a conventional hazardous waste facility. Waste Solidification: Solidification was developed as a back-up option for cases where wastes cannot e conditionally
