Decommissioning Waste Disposal Options Kinectrics prepared a study of options for disposal of the client's Low and Intermediate Level (L&ILW) decommissioning nuclear waste. The following criteria were used to collect data on waste disposal facilities and on the waste disposal options used (worldwide) by organizations for international reactors: Reactors decommissioned within the last 10 years Low and Intermediate Level Radioactive Waste (L&ILW) disposal faciiities costs L&ILW disposal facilities acceptance criteria L&ILW waste packaging L&ILW disposal facilities design International decommissioning data was gathered on reactors and waste disposal facilities and comparisons were drawn from the data to show trends. Findings were prepared and presented to the client.
