Work began at the beginning of June 2009 and possession was scheduled until the 27th July 2009. The improvement works required an 11 week full closure of the line between Doncaster and Scunthorpe, although operating restrictions meant that there were no trains between Doncaster and Clee- thorpes for the duration.
