Marriott Case Study Marriott International, Inc. is a leading worldwide hospitality company. Today, the company has nearly 3,700 properties and 17 brands in 73 countries and territories worldwide. In the UK and Ireland there are approximately 10,000 employees working at 69 Marriott venues, including 12 Hotel & Country Clubs. Challenge When Marriott UK was sold by Whitbread plc, it was forced to separate its IT infrastructure from the Whitbread parent company. Marriott UK had a one-year transitional services agreement with Whitbread, so at the end of 12 months Marriott UK had to be completely separated. There was a huge task ahead in planning the separation, rebuilding the IT infrastructure, and launching a new HR and payroll application for approximately 10,000 employees. Solution Marriott
