Market Street Streetscape | Volkert Location: Chattanooga, TN Client: City of Chattanooga The City of Chattanooga chose Volkert to design and manage the revitalization of a key downtown corridor, Market Street, a principal artery running through Chattanooga’s central business district, as part of joint public and private efforts to restore and enliven Chattanooga’s urban center. Volkert provided design, construction management and inspection services for this high-profile urban renewal project. The project encompassed an urban roadway, with curb and gutter drainage, on- street parking, pedestrian streetlights, trees, tree wells, irrigation, and utility relocations.
