LUNDY ISLAND, SEA CAVES - CIVIL & STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING
One such signicant low-water cave (pictured below) had developed 6m below the main access road. JGP designed a robust facing wall using reinforced sprayed concrete with an appropriate rapid setting and hardening additive. The new facing wall incorporated a ventilation hole at the top to allow air to escape and prevent pressure build-up.
