Case Study Chartered Architects EHW were commissioned as design and build architects for a new build separate facility for pre-school children on the site of the existing primary school.. The internal arrangement is completely open-plan with spaces divided by curtains. The interior design includes tactile felt wall fi nishes and wool clouds overhead adding visual interest whilst providing innovative acoustic mitigation for sound reverberation. External play spaces are covered by a lightweight structure clad in coloured perspex panels. Large louvred panels, spanning the entire width of the front elevation, enable natural air fl ow through the building. The project was completed in August 2013.
