Long term performance monitoring is a critical component of an asset management programme for dams. In 2005 ITM Monitoring, now SOCOTEC Monitoring UK Ltd, was approached by Halcrow, acting for Welsh Water, to assist in the design of an instrumentation system for Claerwen Dam in the Elan Valley.
