Lonesome Creek Natural Gas Peaking Station | Alexander, ND Scope of Work Wanzek was the EPC contractor for the 45 megawatt General Electric LM6000 combustion turbine generator peaking unit for the Lonesome Creek Generation Station located near Alexander, ND. Wanzek was responsible for completing the engineering (civil,electrical, and mechanical) and the balance of plant work for all equipment and controls to support the plant. The natural-gas-fired peaking station will primarily be used to support the local transmission systems and serve loads developing in the area.
