Solution Project One of Bismarck’s oldest parks, Lions Park, is a large community park on the east side of the city. The park, surrounded by residential neighborhoods, has always served as a recreational area for swimming, walking, biking, skateboarding, disc golf, and ice skating. KLJ determined the park’s existing roadway system was inconsistent with current user operation and recommended it be converted to a better functioning and safer one-way system through the park. Vehicular routes were converted to pedestrian routes and historic elm tree canopies were preserved during construction.
