Peter Brett (PBA) | Laurencekirk Rail Station Evaluation Laurencekirk Rail Station Evaluation Laurencekirk rail station was a calling point on the routes between the Central Belt and Aberdeen until 1967 when it was closed as part of the wide-ranging Beeching reforms. Following the development of a business case the station was re-opened in 2009. PBA’s transport planning team in Scotland undertook an evaluation of the re-opening of the station on behalf of Transport Scotland to understand whether the project is meeting its intended objectives. The evaluation was carried out in line with Transport Scotland’s Transport Appraisal Guidance (STAG) and HM Treasury’s Magenta Book.
