ENERGY SMART SCHOOLS LARGEST LED RETROFIT IN NEVADA Understanding that there was an opportunity to improve the light levels and learning environment in their school while at the same time reducing their energy consumption, Touro University worked with NV Energy’s Energy Smart Schools team to complete the largest LED lighting retrofit on a Nevada school campus. Linear LED lamps were installed replacing fluorescent tubes along with smaller PAR LED lamps as replacements for incandescent lights resulting in a significant energy and cost savings to the school with a return on investment in just 6 months. The 779,839 kWh saved annually will provide Touro University an estimated $85,782 in annual utility cost savings! BY THE NUMBERS . . . ? 1,274 fixtures
