The challenge Bigler AG needed an intelligent solution for storage and efficient order picking of individual items in the food sector. Required to store packaged meat and sausage products the Dematic imple- mented solution had accommodate the increasing variety in the range of products, growing customer demand for ever smaller batch sizes and shorter delivery times. With around half Bigler AG’s customers consisting of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the specialist butcher trade and food retail, they need frequent deliveries of minimum quantities up to three times a week.
