Increasing Market Share Through Strategic Acquisitions When pharmaceutical innovator Sunovion sought to expand the number of products it offers for treating chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), it relied on experienced counsel from Holland & Knight in its $430 million acquisition of Elevation Pharmaceuticals, a privately held biopharmaceutical company specializing in aerosol therapies for individuals with respiratory diseases. During the course of this multifaceted acquisition, we guided Sunovion through an extended and complex auction process, days of in-person negotiations and the amending of critical license agreements with third parties. The products acquired by Sunovion include Elevation's EP-101, an inhaler solution for patients with COPD that is in Phase 2b clinical trials.
