The Wharton School needed to expand its HPC capacity to meet growing demand from faculty and researchers without disrupting users or incurring major infrastructure costs. Building on its existing Altair Grid Engine environment, Wharton adopted cloud-based scaling with NavOps. The solution enabled seamless integration between on-premises resources and cloud infrastructure, tripling available core capacity while maintaining zero downtime. Researchers gained flexible access to advanced computing tools, including GPUs, while controlling costs. The hybrid HPC approach improved scalability, reduced administrative burden, and supported Wharton’s data-driven research initiatives.
