August 2011 Roofing Sika at Work Roofing Application Field: Soladex and Decothane Case Study at Heathmans Road Units 9-11, Parsons Green, LondonProject Requirement This building houses offices used for a variety of different purposes and let out to individual tenants. The project involved two roof areas on two buildings within the complex. In both instances the roofs were leaking and the asbestos substrate required encapsulation to prevent harmful fibres being released. Sika Liquid Plastics Solution A Soladex 15 system from Sika Liquid Plastics was specified for the project. The system incorporates a completely seamless, encapsulating membrane that can be spray or brush applied and allows asbestos to be left undisturbed.
